Well yes… if you live in a tiny house or a smaller space I suppose there is such a thing as “too many books”… But I think even if we lived in a tiny house we’d find every nook and cranny to cram books into and would be perfectly fine just letting them overflow from the shelves and bookcases into stacks on the floor.

I guess I’ve been on a bit of a book + library daydream kick this week. (Probably because I had a lovely time going down the home-library rabbit-hole when I put together a post for it that I published yesterday.)

Today I’m sharing some of the books I’ve recently devoured and some others on my “want list”:

I might be in my mid-30s, but I have a forever-love and a special place in my heart for children’s books.

My friend just showed me these two by Good Wives and Warriors and they are SO COOL! Definitely ordering copies for me (and my nieces!)

The artwork is SO beautiful! I flipped through the pages quickly and found several images that I told my friend would be lovely enough to just have framed by themselves!
Adding to my buy list!

Okay, I thought this Myth Match book by Good Wives and Warriors was INSANELY cool and just a wonderful idea.

As they describe it: “You might have heard of the unicorn and the griffin, but what about the unifin? This fantastical flipbook collects together magical and mythical creatures from all over the world, then lets you mix and match their fronts and backs to create even more wondrous beasts of your own!”

This would be such a great creativity project to help spur your imagination! I’d love to get a blank journal and divide up the pages to make some of my own magical creatures.

I’m also a big design nerd + sucker. (As a teenager I remember having a subscription to Domino magazine and I loved flipping through those eclectically mod pages.) So nevertheless, there are a handful of books I want right now from some designers I follow on Instagram.

Decorate Wild

By Justina Blakeney

I read “Big Magic” By Elizabeth Gilbert last Summer and just loved it. Her way of thinking and of approaching the concept of ideas and creating is really spot on for me in this book. If you struggle with creative ruts or the self-imposed stress of creativity definitely check it out.
Lisa Congdon’s creative manual, “Find Your Artistic Voice” is on my WANT list because I follow her on Instagram and just love her and her approach to her artwork and creative lifestyle.
