Hey y’all! I’m Meggan… the face, fingers, and head full of rambling thoughts which makes up Firefly+Finch.
The 411 on me:
Happiest outside. I’m a nature lover + tree hugger
Craft + DIY enthusiast. Never met an art project I didn’t like.
Glue gun aficionado
Generally known for spray painting things gold.
Interior design + fashion magpie: whether timeless, fantastic, or funky - I’m here for it.
A born and raised Floridian who grew up on the beaches of Sarasota making dribble sand castles or playing in mangrove and banyan trees; I spent my undergraduate years in Gainesville at the University of Florida, a second generation Gator to my parents who met there in the 80s.
After graduating I moved up the coast to the history-infused capital city of Richmond Virginia. (I will be forever thankful for the biscuits & gravy + chicken & waffles.) Eight years later my partner and I took a leap of faith, blinked a few times, and wound up in tiny Bend Oregon. We still pinch ourselves at the playground it’s provided us. Plus, its’s got the last Blockbuster video on the planet, y’all.

My first word was “fancy”. That has always amused me.
I spent about a decade operating a little Etsy shop where I made chandeliers that looked like birdcages. I learned a lot about running my own little business and sent out my artwork for people to enjoy all over the world. I was even commissioned to make birdcage chandeliers for an Alice + Olivia New York Fashion Week runway show.
I was at The University of Florida during the Tim Tebow era AND the “don’t tase me bro” fiasco. What a time to be alive.
When I pass through a toll I like to pay for the person behind me. It might be weirdly anonymous, but it brightens my day and I only hope it brightens theirs a little, too.
I can’t live without coffee or bananas or thrifting. But the way I see it, there are worse addictions, am I right?

Although it’s just me on the blog I often speak in the plural because the green-eyed Catty pictured above weighs in (quite vocally, too) about whatever topic we’re on. She helps as office manager, assistant, CFO, etc. etc.
If you work from home and share space with fur babies or regular human babies you probably know how that whole “talking to yourself” thing goes.
So I’ll just be over here! … Crafting and gabbing about things important and not; collecting shiny project ideas like the magpie that I am and weaving them into my bird’s nest.
