Why Tailwind? Because TIME = MONEY (And If You're A Blogger I KNOW You Need More Time!)

For anyone out there diving head-first into the blogging pool — you’ll soon learn that the deep end is CHOCK-FULL of new things you’ll need to learn about in order to not lose steam and in order to drive a successful blog!

Between SEO optimization, digital marketing + branding, defining your niche + audience, making sure you’re engaging on Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook, and just getting traffic and being seen. . . it can feel overwhelming at first knowing where to start, deciding on what to learn first, and choosing what tools to invest in.

There’s a lot to learn and so much to do - and just never enough time to do it!

Pinterest has been a huge traffic-driver for me! It’s truly invaluable to anyone who wants to get serious about blogging. With over 350 million active worldwide users, it’s one of the most effective search engines out there to drive traffic and new viewers to your blog.

But because I don’t want to dedicate my life to pinning my posts on Pinterest and because I literally can’t be at my computer at the opportune time to make sure my pins are going out at the best times to the most viewers possible - I invested in Tailwind.

(And because really at the end of the day, I’m a big believer that time is money.)

This page contains affiliate links, which means I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you that I’ll use to buy groceries & feed my cat with if you should use those links. For more info please see my full Disclosure here.

What is Tailwind?

It’s a social media scheduling tool. I use it mainly for my blog’s Pinterest account as my pinning scheduler. I also use & love all of its analytics tools to help me understand what posts, pins, boards, etc. are working and which are not. (It gives a way deeper dive into analytics than Pinterest’s tools do.)

The Plus subscription also gives you limited access to their SmartLoop feature & their Tailwind Tribes feature.

SmartLoop allows you to plug in some of your most popular performing pins to get constantly circulated.

Tailwind Tribes is a feature where you can join niche groups of similar bloggers to help boost/promote your pins & posts even further.

You can pay a little more to ‘PowerUp’ either of these features to give you a higher pinning/sharing limit in SmartLoop, and access to more Tailwind Tribes and more sharing opportunity, too.

They’ve created separate subscription plans available to help boost either your Pinterest or your Instagram platforms.

I’m Pinterest focused right now and trying to build my Insta traffic more organically. The Pinterest annual plan for Tailwind Plus is $119. (There’s a monthly $15 plan but if you do the annual you’ll end up saving $61 — way better value in my honest opinion.) They do offer a trial — if you want to explore its social media perks first they offer your first 100 Pinterest pins free OR your first 30 scheduled Instagram posts.

Tailwind is a lifesaver. Tailwind is how I’ve been able to put my Pinterest on autopilot so I can eat dinner at dinnertime and do Saturday night things on Saturday night.

You get the idea… I’ve seen my Pinterest following grow much faster and with continued exponential growth since the day I signed up. While not all results will be the same and my results may be atypical, I’m sharing my personal metrics with you here so you get an idea of my progress!

Tailwind also provides metrics for average users + members each year, so you can see what other people’s growth + metrics for their Pinterest and Instagram accounts look like as well.

(Get ready to geek out when you start diving into their amazing analytics!)

Here are some snapshots of some of my own metrics:

It’s the first ‘investment’ into my blogging I’ve put money into/paid for (aside from the Squarespace site itself), and I’m so glad I did! When I signed up for the annual Tailwind Plus plan over Memorial Day Weekend in late May, I’d been blogging and pinning my posts straight to Pinterest for about five months — and had 160 Pinterest followers. Fast forward to now — it’s mid-August and today I have 759 Pinterest followers! That’s INSANELY awesome exponential growth and truly just makes me wish I’d signed up for it sooner.

I also made my first affiliate marketing sale (woop woop!) through my ShopStyle Collective Shop on my blog just two days after signing up for Tailwind Plus, too.

At the end of the day, increased traffic through Pinterest means more eyes on my blog and more fingers clicking on my blog’s shop and more sales!

While I can’t definitively know for sure if Tailwind boosted me to those initial ShopStyle sales, it definitely felt like a sign that things were clicking into place and moving in the right direction (and at the slightly faster pace I’d been wanting, too).

Again, it’s mid-August now and I started using Tailwind Plus on Memorial Day Weekend in May, and I’ve made enough already on sales through my ShopStyle shop to cover some of my initial web-hosting blog expenses, which I’m really psyched on! Breaking even feels like a big win.

So whether you’re a new blogger, or whether you’re just ready to free up some of your precious time for more writing (—and let’s be real, so you can stop pinning at 7PM on Friday nights) then STOP THE MADNESS and click my link below to start putting your pins on autopilot.
