Magenta + Hot Pink Rooms Making Me Mega Swoon

There’s something about a deliciously decadent hot pink, fuchsia, or magenta room that makes me swoon immediately. They almost sing; fun and punchy and definitely not for the faint of heart. Thank goodness Pantone finally caught up with me and made ‘Viva Magenta’ their favorite color pick for 2023!

Rooms have a way of impacting your character and your personality, who you want to be and how you want to enjoy a space. I was feeling mega inspired by all the magenta and the array of swoon-worthy, berry-infused, lipstick-inspired, mega-saturated spaces.

I think being in such a bold space every day would push you to be just as fabulous as your surroundings… For example: the longer I look at these rooms I’m increasingly compelled to get out of my sweatpants and go put on something punchy and stylish.

That. Is. Amazing.

Colors to pair with your pinks, magentas, and fuchsias:

  • DARK COLORS. Think black, navy blue, gray, eggplant purple, + deep teal.

  • GREENS. I’m thinking kelly + Emerald green, mint, + pistachio.

  • METALLICS. Brass, copper, + gold all day.

  • ORANGES. If you want to really warm it up, play with more warm tones.

If you’re not quite ready for hot pink walls, start by layering it into your space with furniture, textiles like pillows, rugs, and drapes; cool art or funky sculptures — even a bright pink floral arrangement. (There are lots of beautiful hot pink flowers out there! Look for orchids, peonies, and roses - to name a few)

Some of the spaces below do a really good job at peppering pink throughout the space. Because it’s such a punchy color you can put it anywhere and you can be sure it’s going to pop. It may not take much more than getting creative with an old piece of furniture and a can of glossy paint!
