Rustic Farmhouse Meets Modern Chic Maison: Rooms We’d Copy Right Now

If you’re all about a timeless space, the rooms we’ve gathered here will never go out of style. You can’t go wrong with a modern rustic farmhouse; with crisp white - juxtaposed with lots of wood, woven textiles + plants - paired alongside copper, brass, or gold. I can hear Joanna Gaines agreeing me somewhere, thousands of miles away. (Chip agrees too he probably just didn’t hear me because he was too busy climbing a tree or doing cartwheels or being a general goober).

Here are some of my favorite modernized farmhouse style spaces.

some lean harder towards the modern side, while others are truly centuries-old farmhouses that hae added current updates + touches. though They each evoke a slightly different vibe & style, we find they’re each equally magical in their own way.

These spaces are just so clean and timeless! They would definitely inspire me not to create weird little piles of mail and clutter, and to always keep the counters spotless!

As amazing as I think open shelving is… I think -for as many little appliances and baking accessories and cooking utensils as a normal household has- you’d need to have some normal cabinetry to hide all of those kitchen extras. (Oh, the beauty of having a proper home to keep your air fryer hidden away.)

Okay, all this rustic-meets-modern farmhouse ogling has me ready to put on some Chip + Jo, snuggle up with a big cable-knit blanket, and go through a stack of design magazines. Just me?

I’m all about these spaces - but I don’t know if I could successfully keep it this white or minimal. I know the version we create one day will have lots of this inspiration - I love that line where modern + rustic meet - but my version will probably be sprinkled with a little more color! I do love the exposed beams and all the different combinations of wood and brick, wood and stone, wood and metal. It’s like a cleaned up and modernized take on shabby chic, for sure without the doilies.

How about you? Which of these spaces resonates with you the most? Do you fall more on the modern side, or more on the farmhouse side? However you define your style - I hope you’ve found some yummy timeless touches in here that can be plugged into your space.
